Above from L-to-R are Jack Randall, handling the movie camera, along with Peggy Keys and Robert North Bradbury in a publicity still included in the pressbook for RIDERS OF THE DAWN (Monogram, 1937), Randall's first starring oater. Peggy Keys was the heroine and the director of the film was Bradbury, Bob Steele's father. Bradbury's real name was Ronald Bradbury (1886-1949).

Above is Jack Randall and his trusty steed 'Rusty, The Wonder Horse'. Rusty was also used by Tom Keene in his early 1941-1942 series at Monogram (and then Keene switched to a horse named Prince which had no face blaze). Hoot Gibson and Chief Thunder Cloud also rode Rusty during their Trail Blazers' films. Rusty was a smart and talented hoss that is totally forgotten today. He is easy to spot with that unique face blaze.

Above is the title lobby card to PIONEER DAYS (Monogram, 1940), one of the later Randall westerns and the first Randall that was produced by Harry S. Webb. Does Randall's steed look familiar? It's "Lucky/Tex" which was ridden by a bunch of B-western folks including: Raymond Hatton in his Johnny Mack Brown oaters; John 'Dusty' King during his time as a member of Monogram's Range Busters; and Jimmy Wakely rode Lucky in some of his Monogram westerns.

Above is Randall on Jack Perrin's white horse Starlight. The heroine might be Louise Stanley, onetime wife of Randall, who appeared in five of his 22 oaters.
