In memory of George Coan, a great fan of the western and publisher of The Old Cowboy Picture Show (TOCPS) newsletter. George passed away on October 28, 2009.
George Coan was the publisher of The Old Cowboy Picture Show (TOCPS), an 8 1/2 x 11, B&W publication that celebrated the B western.

George's pal Leo Pando published the final issue of TOCPS which I received in December, 2009. The cover is shown on the right and the issue chronicles three passings: the death of George Coan and John "Lone Ranger" Hart as well as the closure of the Roy and Dale Museum in Branson, Missouri.

Bill Russell, who contributed the Old Corral writeups on Bill Cody, Harry Carey, Hoot Gibson and others publishes his Western Revue fanzine several times a year.

On the right is the cover of the January, 2010 issue which features Reb Russell, Lane Chandler, Lucille Lund, Bill Patton, and a Tex Cooper Appreciation. The issue is 8 1/2 x 11, in B&W, and is $6.00 postpaid in the U.S.

You can write him at:

Western ClippingsWestern Clippings is a slick 8 1/2 x 11", B&W publication that comes out bi-monthly (6 times a year), and is published by Boyd Magers, the cowboy/serial videotape guru in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  The cover on the left is the front page from the November - December, 2011 issue #104 with details on the auction of John Wayne's personal property. Chock full of everything related to the western, including a column by actor Will 'Sugarfoot' Hutchins, obituaries, more. 6 issues per year.

Subscription price for 1 year (6 issues) is about $30.00, and you can check out Boyd's website for other pricing options, overseas delivery, etc.
