On Saturday, August 18, 1988, the sixth Annual Golden Boot awards were held at the Warner Center, Marriott Hotel in Woodland Hills, California.  Fred Scott, the 'Silvery-Voiced Buckaroo', was receiving his Golden Boot Award for his contributions to the western film.  Singing cowboy Eddie Dean presented the award to Fred.

Above, congratulations are in order as Fred Scott exits the stage with his award, followed by Eddie Dean.  Country-western singer Stuart Hamblen is shaking Fred's hand.  Note the Golden Boot in Fred's left hand.  Fred was 86 years old when he received this award. Singer Willie Nelson is in lower left corner of this picture.
