Folks that had meaty roles and lots of dialog and often received billing credit in the opening titles. They were the 'brains' and 'action' heavies ... and the main players that portrayed fathers, ranch owners, lawmen, mayors, judges, lawyers, storekeepers, newspaper editors, wardens, etc. And younger guys who sometimes assisted the hero ... and sometimes portrayed the maligned son or brother of the father or heroine. |
Of the e-mail that I've received, many folks have asked for info on those wonderful players who were villains ... and father of the heroine, or were lawmen, storekeepers, et al. Chronicled in this section are players that got meatier roles, they generally had dialog, and might have even been listed in the opening or closing cast credits.

An interesting tidbit about the older actors is that many of them began their acting careers in the 1900 - 1920s performing on the stage, in traveling repertory companies, and vaudeville.
